Join Us as We “Honor our Veterans” In this “Stand for Peace” We gather with the International Council of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers for the healing of the four hoops of life. ◦Ourselves ◦Our Families ◦Our communities ◦Our Mother Earth Turtle Women Rising held a gathering in Washington, DC in 2008, in a Stand For Peace. We are honored to share these images from 2008, and this song “New Way” with the invitation to join us in DC October 8-11, 2010.
New Way was a gift from a baby turtle, that was received by our sister Mz. imani white. We hope you will learn this song and sing with us. Whether in DC, or at your home place, please sing and drum with us in solidarity. Many Blessings to you, as we each do our part to help bring a new way to walk on the earth. THE VISION We are called forth: To gather the feminine energies of all life. We call upon the elders, mothers and daughters of the earth. We see our brothers and sisters, our friends and lovers ready to answer the call. It’s all about you, it’s all about us, and together it is “We”. Imagine how powerful this can be, listening to our heartbeats growing strong. “One strong heartbeat standing for Peace”. We have no words only the heartbeat of the drum. We are Turtle Women Rising, rising for Peace. We rise in Love, in Song, and in Prayer. Our faith grows strong and our own knowing of the possibilities begins to reveal itself. It is the Power of Love, the Power of life. “Yes we can imagine that”.
We rise to support the tears of all life givers and hold in our hearts the pain of violence transforming the pain and healing all wounds. We are strengthened by faith and the knowing of our individual walk. With every sound of the heartbeat from the mallet we raise the earth’s vibrations bringing the Light closer to the mother who is healing herself. This is the Light that will heal the holes in our hearts and the hearts of all living things.
Turtle Women Rising shares an alliance and purpose with the work of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. We are honored to welcome the Grandmothers to DC as they join us in this gathering. We invite your participation to take action with us on site or at your home place consciously connecting the web of all life. We are a drum group led by Indigenous Women. We invite people of all nations who hear the call to join us as we reweave the web bringing the remembrance of our warrior and their ways. We Welcome Our Troops Home, We Welcome Our Veterans and their families into our community “You cannot demand peace you can only become it.” “You cannot fight for peace you can only live it.”
