I lived in Hayward from 1996 to 1999 – were you there then too? I worked for Paul DeMain at News from Indian Country at LCO.- until I moved to Connecticut to be editor of the Pequot Times.

Sorry for the delay. I came to LCO to attend college LCOOC in January 2000. I just missed you. I knew Paul and his work naturally. I liked him and Nick. I loved being part of the education there. I moved to WI from Washington, DC area because I longed for tribal education. I made a lot of friends there especially some elders who were great teachers and I loved them dearly. My mother-in-law lived in Minong so I had family in the area. This was very important to administrators at the college. I learned more with the Ojibwe than in the outside world and I live those truths still this day. Stay well Lara. I did read your book, Mental Midgets. I go back to it, again and again. I am amazed at your word power, insightfulness, truth, and Vision.

My friend – I lived in Gordon area/Wascott too and spent time in Minong. There are very good people I love at LCO that I miss terribly. SO glad to have you as a friend. I am honored you read my MMM book, truly honored. (I reread it too.)
